In short: HISAB has no server and no cloud account. Your transactions, balances, debts, savings goals and profile are stored only in a database on your own device and are never sent to us. The only data that leaves the app is what its two third-party services collect: Google AdMob (ads) and Sentry (crash reports), described below.
1. Data stored on your device
HISAB stores the following locally on your phone, and nowhere else:
- Your profile: name, phone number, optional email, and an optional profile photo you choose
- Your accounts, transactions, categories, debt and lending records, and savings goals
- Your settings, including theme, currency, and App Lock preferences
- Your password and PIN, stored only as one-way hashes (never in readable form). The PIN hash is kept in the device's secure storage.
We never receive, see, or have a copy of any of this. Uninstalling HISAB permanently deletes it, and there is no backup for us to restore from.
2. Data collected by third-party services

For users in the European Economic Area and the United Kingdom, HISAB shows Google's consent form before any ad is requested, and ads are only requested if you consent.
3. Permissions
- Biometric / fingerprint: used only to unlock the app. Your device handles the fingerprint or face check; HISAB never receives or stores biometric data.
- Photos / media: used only when you choose a profile picture. The picture is copied to the app's private storage and never uploaded.
- Internet and network state: used only by the ad and crash-reporting services above. HISAB does not send your financial data over the network.
- Advertising ID: used by Google AdMob for ads.
HISAB does not request location, contacts, camera, microphone or SMS permissions.
4. Advertising
HISAB is free and supported by ads. Ads are optional rewarded videos shown at two points: after you unlock the app, and before exporting a report. If no ad is available, for example when you are offline, you can continue without watching one.
5. Children
HISAB is a personal finance tool intended for adults. It is not directed at children, and we do not knowingly collect data from anyone under 18.
6. Deleting your data
You can delete everything HISAB holds by uninstalling the app, or by using Reset App Data in the Forgot Password flow. Because we hold no copy of your data, there is nothing on our side to delete. For data collected by Google AdMob or Sentry, see their policies linked above, or contact us and we will help with the request.
7. Security
Passwords and PINs are hashed before storage, the PIN hash is held in secure device storage, and you can protect the app with a PIN or biometric lock. No method of storage is perfectly secure, and because your data lives on your device, keeping the device itself secure is part of protecting it.
8. Changes to this policy
If this policy changes, the updated version will be posted at this address with a new effective date.
